The HMF products are powerful probiotics for relief of intestinal health problems. These Human Micro Flora (HMF) are human-derived strains including Lactobacillus acidophilus and L. bifidus, and the only product line of their kind in North America. All other probiotics are made from animal or dairy strains and do not adhere as well to the human gastrointestinal tract. 

Ingredients: HMF Super Powder 120g Each 1/4 teaspoon (1g) contains:

• Lactobacillus acidophilus (two strains).......6 billion CFU
• Bifidobacterium bifidum.......1 billion CFU
• Bifidobacterium lactis.......1 billion CFU
• Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS).......800 mg
• Fructose

May contain up to 12 billion CFU

All HMF probiotics contain NO dairy, casein, wheat, gluten, soy, corn, nuts or other common allergens. And are manufactured in a nut free facility.

Recommended Dosage for HMF Super Powder:
Adults: One quarter 1/4 to one half 1/2 teaspoon, two times daily with meals.
Acute infections: 1/4 to 1 teaspoon, two to three times daily with meals.
Candidiasis: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon, three times daily with meals.
Children: 1/4 teaspoon one to two times daily with meals.
Acute infections: One quarter teaspoon two times daily with meals.

Safe and highly recommended during pregnancy, lactation, and antibiotic use.

Contraindications: None known.

What is FOS?
The fructo-oligo-saccharides (FOS) ensure rapid establishment of the Lactobacilli in the upper small intestine and bifido bacteria in the lower small intestine. The source of FOS in the HMF super powder is from the whole freeze-dried apricot. The apricot is used for its soothing effect on the intestinal walls (and great flavor in the powders). If you experience excessive gas after taking this product, it is a sign that your microflora is out of balance and you need to keep taking probiotics. Yet, if you find the symptoms unmanageable, you can switch to HMF Intensive caps for 10 days which contains no FOS.

Where are the bacterial strains derived from?
Using laboratory procedures many years ago, hundreds of different bacterial strains were isolated from a healthy human intestinal wall sample. They were separated out, and each one was reproduced to make huge batches for testing via scientific trials. (Lab procedures only require one cell sample to reproduce large quantities for testing and production over the years). Research indicated that only four of the hundreds of available cultures were the beneficial strains with health promoting properties. These were the ones which held up strong during 15 years of testing, thus they were used as the probiotic strains in all the HMF products. HMF Super Powder 120g contains a 3:1 ratio of L. acidophius to Bifidobacterium, thus focuses more on upper GI distress, and also targets cells in the gyno-urino system.

HMF Super Powder is indicated for colds, flus, gas, bloating, indigestion, food poisoning, bacterial vaginosis, and fungal and yeast infections. Most notable is the critical role of taking HMF probiotics during and post antibiotic use which seriously damages the good flora throughout the body.

HMF Super Powder can help crowd out the yeast and other undesirable organisms which result from use of antibiotics, chemotherapy, oral contraceptives, and hormone replacement therapy.

Intensive Phase
Take ½ teaspoon twice daily after meals for one month. Please note, for more severe intestinal upsets you may safely take 1 Tablespoon twice daily.

Are HMF products shipped with an ice pack?
No. But, after extensive product testing and new freeze drying technology performed by Genestra, it was concluded that the ice pack did not make a difference during shipping since the product potency was still well over 100% label claims when shipped with ice or no ice. The manufacturer states that it is no longer necessary to ship the HMF products with an ice pack for these reasons:

1. Genestra has added in 50% more probiotic than what the label guarantees per bottle. For example, HMF Forte is guaranteed to have 6 billion L. acidophilus per serving, but there are 12 billion present at time of manufacturing and it is kept frozen until shipping.

2. October 2004: The manufacturer has increased product stability again, allowing the probiotics to last up to 6 months at room temperature holding their GUARANTEED minimum potency on label!

3. You will receive your HMF probiotic directly from the manufacturer in about 3-5 days. This product is very fresh and has not been sitting around on our shelves. And, you are guaranteed it will contain 50% more than what the label states.

How do I travel with my HMF probiotics?
We highly recommend you take your probiotics with you on all trips and vacations since their potency will last for up to 6 months at room temperature un-refrigerated. But, when possible and if convenient, we recommend you store your probiotics in the freezer or refrigerator, especially if you plan to preserve freshness of your product for months or years.
